I suffered with chronic yeast infections for years. Yeast is in your body at all times, but an infection is an overgrowth of same. It’s your body’s way of telling you that something is out of balance. I didn’t know that back then, and suffered through multiple remedies of pills, washes, suppositories, creams, and even an insertion of plain yogurt, but the infection always came back several weeks later. I pretty much lived with it.

While browsing in a health food store in 2000, a lady followed me around from isle to isle, chatting me up the whole time. I was feeling like she was a bit creepy, and annoying, but we got on the topic of yeast infections, and she recommended that I try the probiotic called bifidum. I was skeptical, but ended up buying a bottle – they were small capsules filled with a white powdery substance. The bottle called it “good bacteria.” To intentionally ingest bacteria sounded strange to me, but after taking it for a month, miraculously, the infections subsided. After years of traditional Western medical treatment, this simple digestive aid resolved my issue. In the ten years I’ve been taking it, I think I’ve only had three infections. Amazing yes? ( Through this amazing experience, I’ve formed a belief that people cross our paths for a reason, no matter how creepy or annoying, so take time to listen, and share.)

Here is a product to treat and prevent yeast infections Yeast Gard Homepathic Feminine Wash. The description advertises that it can relieve the symptoms, it’s a compliment or alternative to anti-fungal drugs, contains a probiotic base (yes!!) to balance the ph of the vagina, and can prevent future infections. Sounds like a God send doesn’t it? Please make a comment if you’ve tried it, and give your earth sisters some feedback on it.

Whoopie Goldberg advertising POISE. www.dewdropshop.com/bladder-protection

This video is cute but brings attention to a serious issue with many…spritzing or leaking urine with a sneeze or squeeze, a laugh or jog. Are you controlling your bladder or is your bladder controlling you? Are you avoiding social events or travelling long distances to prevent the possible embarassment of shhhh, a leak? You are not alone. Per the National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse (http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/uiwomen/), women suffer urinary incontinence twice as often as men, and it impacts 200 million people worldwide (this per the National Association of Continence, http://www.nafc.org/index.php?page=facts-statistics ). As there are different types of incontinence from overactive bladder to actual loss of control, and different causes, getting a diagnosis is critical. See your doctor as it is a medical condition and it is treatable. See available types of protection: www.dewdropshop.com/bladder-protection

In my hunt for low priced feminine hygiene care, I ran across this book, “Outlook for Tampons in Greater China.” It was very expensive, over $600. I automatically thougt to take a look at the pricing at Amazon, and they of course carry the book much cheaper at $495. In case are looking into exporting into China, here is the description for you per Amazon:

Product Description
This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for tampons across the regions of Greater China, including provinces, autonomous regions (Guangxi, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xizang – Tibet), municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Tianjin), special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and Taiwan (all hereafter referred to as “regions”). Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,100 cities in Greater China. For each major city in question, the percent share the city is of the region and of Greater China is reported. Each major city is defined as an area of “economic population”, as opposed to the demographic population within a legal geographic boundary. For many cities, the economic population is much larger that the population within the city limits; this is especially true for the cities of the Western regions. For the coastal regions, cities which are close to other major cities or which represent, by themselves, a high percent of the regional population, actual city-level population is closer to the economic population (e.g. in Beijing). Based on this “economic” definition of population, comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city’s marketing and distribution value vis-a-vis others. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

Reusable cloth menstrual pads…REALLY? I never knew there was such a thing until I started researching alternative protection for the menstrual cycle. My initial thought is ugy, nope, nada, no, but the more thought I give, the more I think it could be a viable option. There is the green factor, reducing your carbon footprint by reusing organic materials, there is the comfort factor – not having synthetic material against your most sensitive lady skin skin area, and ultimately there is cost savings by buying a supply of pads once and using over and over again for years. Here is a nice review provided by: http://thenakedcat.livejournal.com/20565.html

Nirena keeps a woman healthy and happy Women who do not accept a compromise and desire the very best for their feminine care needs, use Nirena for their intimate hygiene. This hypoallergenic gel, made with no synthetic chemicals and with ultra-premium clinically proven compounds, helps prevent the itching, odor, and discharge that result from infections as well as maintain optimal vaginal comfort and health. Not another soap or detergent, Nirena is an organic gel pH-balanced precisely to protect and condition the delicate vaginal environment. Its formula relies on naturally derived high purity compounds that possess wide-spectrum antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory benefits along with powerful hydrating compounds. Nirena protects intimate areas just the way nature perfected them. Proper daily cleansing with the gel preserves natural flora and inhibits foreign microbes to ward off nasty infections. Use of synthetic products, however, leads to imbalances of bacteria, protozoa, and fungi that cause vaginitis from yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and other diseases. This is partially caused by constant exposure to soaps, detergents, shampoos, douches, sprays, and perfumes that we don’t need and shouldn’t use. From the very first use, one is engulfed in a sense of well-being. Nirena® is a cutting-edge innovation in feminine hygiene that is changing women’s lives. Don’t you too deserve the best in intimate care? The brilliant minds behind the development of DS Laboratories products create today what becomes the standard tomorrow. Today we advance the art and science of intimate feminine care with premium Nirena® intimate cleanser – a breakthrough that provides efficacy and results that are inadequately addressed by other commercially available products, which use cheap detergents, harsh chemicals, and low pH tolerances. Nirena® has a precisely set pH carefully tested and tracked on every batch to protect the vaginal flora integrity. In addition, Nirena contains exclusive and totally naturally compounds (with extensive clinical and scientific evidence) which have proven antibacterial, anticandidal, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. These ingredients have never been used in any commercially available product. It took two years of development for Nirena to reach maturity. A dozen experienced researchers, designers, and producers collaborating around the world developed the perfect synthesis of state-of-the-art technology and precision. Beginning with your very first use, it is an exceptional experience to treat yourself to Nirena, as it is for us to make it.

Visit the Amazon Store menu tab now to grab your savings!

What do you call it? That event that comes every month with either resignation, indifference, joy (oh my!), or grief. Flo, Tom, period, cycle, curse, visitor… hit the comment link, and tell me what you call it.

How many tampon boxes will you buy in a year? Twelve minimum right? I use about 5 tampons a day (usually more). Multiply that by 6 days (5 x 6 = 30), so I use 30 or more tampons per cycle. Love it or hate it, it’s a monthy deal. 30 wands times 12 mths – that’s 360 wands a year! In today’s economy, we need to reduce spending in every corner. Ever considered buying them in bulk for a cheaper price? You could also share with household members, or split with a friend. We’ve researched products prices on-line and made price comparisons to what might be available in your neighborhood store. We’ve done the work for you to find cheaper tampons, pads, discounts, free shipping and coupons/rebates. Shop with confidence – established on-line retailers only.

Click on this link to obtain tampon prices from popular chain retailers and wholesalers in your neighborhood. Tampon Price Review I researched these prices myself this past May. Of course prices are subject to change but compare them to the on-line retailers for attractive offers.
